Guided by its mission, Plimoth Plantation’s educational philosophy
and programs offer powerful personal experiences of history for
students, teachers and families. Our programs emphasize the personal
side of history, representing the perspectives of the Native Wampanoag
and Colonial English people (popularly known as the “Pilgrims”)
who lived in the Plymouth area in the 17th century. We strive
to engage people in three different levels of learning: information,
critical examination and personal change.
Our education programs incorporate multiple disciplines and align
with the Massachusetts core curriculum frameworks. They can accommodate
students from grades K through adult. For details about how we
fufill these frameworks, please go to our Curriculum Frameworks page.
